Attract ModeBack to games

YOUR ACCOUNT. YOUR CHOICES.

Know what comes with you.

Your Attract Mode account gives participating games a familiar way to recognize you. Each game keeps its own progress and explains how it uses game data.

What your account stores

We store a verified sign-in identity, your player handle and display name, profile visibility settings, friend requests, friendships, blocks and reports. If you apply as a publisher, we also store your studio membership and private game submissions. Your sign-in provider supplies the identity and email needed to authenticate you.

Choose how other players find you

New profiles start private, with player search turned off. Open Account on the home page to choose your visibility and whether people can find your exact handle. Accepted friends can see the profile information needed for your friends list. Blocking prevents new friend requests and removes the friendship.

Connecting a game

A registered game asks Attract Mode to verify your identity. The authorization screen identifies the game and the information it requests, such as basic profile information and email. The game receives its own sign-in tokens; it does not receive your Apple, Google or Discord password or direct access to the marketplace database. Each game has its own registered callback and credentials.

Signing out of one game does not automatically sign you out of Attract Mode or another game. You can sign out of the account you are using from that site's account menu.

Cookies and sign-in security

Attract Mode uses essential cookies for your sign-in session, sign-in recovery flow and protection against forged requests. Authentication tokens are encrypted on the server, and session cookies cannot be read by page scripts. Sessions can last up to 30 days. Signing out removes the current account session; clearing browser cookies does not delete your stored profile or game careers.

Friends, reports and publisher submissions

Reports and publisher submissions are stored privately for operator review. Submitting a game does not publish it, charge a customer or accept revenue-sharing terms. Store purchases and subscriptions are not open yet.

Optional usage analytics

We use PostHog to count sign-in steps, errors and broad browser/device categories with random browser and tab identifiers. We do not send email addresses, handles, passwords, authentication links, form contents or recordings to analytics. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable collection. You can also . Game analytics preferences are managed separately in the game’s Settings.

The services involved

Netlify serves this website and its account API. Supabase handles authentication and stores platform records. Apple, Google and Discord process sign-in through their own services when you choose them. These providers process network requests and may retain operational logs under their own policies.

False Start has separate game careers, chat, moderation and optional game analytics. Read its privacy and chat information before playing.
