San Franciscans for Age of Empires II

What’s the draw?

The San Franciscans civilization brings a very different set of units to Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. Rehan Sheikh’s example replaces the usual historical theme with San Francisco references, including a Robotaxi unique unit, Delivery Drones and the Transamerica Pyramid as its wonder.

Sheikh demonstrated the project on September 29 and included the civilization example in universal-modder. The repository keeps dedicated field notes for the Age of Empires II work, alongside the example files. That gives the project a documented modding history beyond a single joke screenshot, although we have not verified its balance or compatibility ourselves.

This is a desktop mod for an existing strategy game, not a standalone browser RTS. The linked repository is the place to inspect setup and current limitations, and you need your own Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition installation. The artwork on this page comes from the public gameplay demonstration. This listing carries no playtest score or claim that the civilization is approved for ranked multiplayer.
