Emerald Arena changes Pokémon Emerald’s battles into real-time encounters inside the original GBA game. You move, aim and dodge while attacks happen, then catch wild Pokémon and keep them in your team or PC. Supported wild and single trainer battles use the arena; double, link and unsupported battles retain the classic format.
Germán Burgardt’s September updates added in-battle evolution, including the Charmeleon-to-Charizard sequence shared on September 28. The current repository documents 151 animated Pokémon, Protect and Hyper Beam, temporary rain and flooding, and battle-time bag and party menus. It credits community contributions and builds on pret’s pokeemerald project.
The release is a patch and installer, not a Pokémon ROM. You supply an unmodified USA/Europe Emerald ROM, prepare it with the included local HTML tool and open the resulting game in a GBA emulator. The project has a public installation guide and release notes. We use its published gameplay screenshot and have not applied the patch or playtested it.
